THE NEW AMERICAN HERO STEVE-O TALKS ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH JOHNNY KNOXVILLE, THAT INFAMOUS GOLDFISH AND THE MAKING OF JACKASS: NUMBER TWO By Richard Livsey
|

Most people think that Steve-O is
nothing more than an alligator
taunting, wasabi snorting, goldfish
regurgitating wild man, but they are
wrong.
Mr. O is a bona fide entertainer with
a resume that includes clown
school, writing credits, stunt work,
and leading roles. Now he's back on
the big screen again in Jackass:
Number Two.
Although it wasn't easy to catch up
with him, I was able to get Steve-O
to slow down for a few minutes and
give me the gory details about his
quest for fame, fortune and pain.
Richard Livsey: What was it like working
on Jackass Number Two? How was
it different than the first one?
Steve-O: Jackass: The Movie had scary
moments. Number Two was pretty much
horrifying the whole time.
RL: Have you sustained many injuries
doing stunts over the years?
SO: I broke my cheekbone, seven teeth,
received ten stitches in my chin, and
broke my wrist....all in one fall. That was in
1995. I was an idiot back then.
RL: Describe your relationship with
Johnny Knoxville? Is it just professional
or do you guys hang out? If so, what do
you guys do for fun?
SO: Work can really wear us down, that's
why you can always find us at the bar.

RL: One of my favorite stunts of yours is where you
swallow a goldfish, and then regurgitate it back up into
a fish bowl. What was that like? And what happened to
the fish?
SO: Fish don't tend to do very well after swimming in
stomach acid. I did that back in year 2000, way before I
became a compassionate human being.
RL: I've been checking out your website, and I have to
say that it's pretty cool? Do you have any favorite sites?
SO: I dig websites that feature me. Thanks for featuring
me on your website.
RL: No problem. Tell me about this other movie that you
are starring in, National Lampoon's TV: The Movie.
SO: It's a very funny and offensive movie consisting of
parodies of television shows. Much like the Scary
Movie series makes fun of movies, National Lampoon's
TV: The Movie makes fun of TV shows. Television has
become massively depraved during its short existence.
I'm very proud to be the star of a movie that
celebrates this depravity, and makes it so much worse.
I'm the leading man in a Universal Pictures release,
check me out.... I made it!
