CUBE FABULOUS
TRANSFORMING DULLNESS  INTO A PERSONAL PARADISE
BY RICHARD LIVSEY
NEW YORK CITY - If you're like many Americans that
work in an office, the notion a cubical is a sad fact of
life. It's where you spend eight to ten hours each day,
staring at the same old pictures tacked onto the wall,
and listening to the all too familiar voices around you
yak on the phone year after year.

Luckily there is some hope for you slaves to the grind
with a new comedy show that is being broadcast
exclusively on the Internet.

Cube Fabulous is here to set you free. Join your
hosts, the zany and charismatic Jeff Gurtman and the
sweet and sexy Megan Gunning as they seek out the
most dismal office spaces and turn them into fun,
expressive works of cubical art.

In the first episode:
The Ski Bunny, Jeff and Megan
set out to transform a dull office space into a winter
wonderland. The show struggles a bit in this first
episode to find its punch lines, but by episode two the
comedic moments were well timed and abundant.

The
Beach Bum is the title of the second episode,
and it was my favorite of the three. And not just
because we get to see Megan running around in a
bikini either, although that was definitely a personal
highlight.

What I liked about the second episode was that
instead of just doing a makeover on the cubical, there
was a storyline that brought some drama and tension
into the episode when the bitter rivalry of two
co-workers was revealed.

In the third episode:
90210. They transform the
cubical of a devout fan of the hit 90's TV show of the
same name into a Beverly Hills themed work station.
Hosts Jeff Gurtman and Megan Gunning are
changing lives one cubical at a time.
The episode is just as strong as the
second, delving into a storyline with a
funny debate between which TV show
is better, Matlock or 90210.

I'll have to side with Megan on this
one because you can't beat the
closing minutes of Matlock when he
uncovers the mystery and brings the
guilty parties to light.

So this afternoon while your milking
the clock at work. Instead of checking
your email, go to
www.cubefabulous.com
and watch an episode.

Also you can visit the Cube Fabulous
Casting Couch and submit your own
cube for a possible makeover.

And don't miss the
Cube Confessional
either. It's a place where you can
anonymously vent your rage by
posting comments about your working
environment.

One disgruntled employee wrote in, "I
give my co-workers the middle finger
from behind the walls of our adjoining
cubes."
