NEW YORK CITY - NBC has a new action packed
drama on Monday nights that shouldn't be
missed. From the writers of
Crash and
Million Dollar Baby, Bobby Moresco and
Paul Haggis bring you a new family drama.
Look out
Sopranos, here come The Black
Donnellys
.

I had a chance to catch up with one of the
principle cast members, Joe D' Onofrio.
An actor with a resume that hosts an
assortment of impressive credits such as:
Goodfellas, A Bronx Tale, Jungle Fever
and
The Night and the City, just to name a
few.
RICHARD LIVSEY:  Describe your experience of working on The Black Donnellys? Did you know anybody on set?

JOE D' ONOFRIO:  I knew some people that worked behind the scenes. Like the prop guys, sound, and camera men. It
was a lot of fun. I did my scenes in the rain, so it was crazy. But it was smooth, everyone was so nice. Great
memories.

RL: Who directed the scenes that you were in, Bobby Moresco or Paul Haggis?

JD: Paul directed, but Bobby was watching and helping out wherever he could. They are very nice people and easy to
work with. They deserve all of their success.

RL: Describe the character that you portray, and his relationship to the Donnelly Brothers.

JD: Louie Downtown is a bookie and my uncle is a big-time wise guy, so a couple of the Donnelly brothers kidnap me to
make a name for themselves, but it backfires.

RL: Unfortunately, your character doesn't live too long on the show.

JD: Well I'm hoping they bring me back in flashback scenes or maybe as a twin brother, but if not I'm just blessed to
work with those people

RL: You are in two of my favorite mob movies, Goodfellas and A Bronx Tale. And you have worked with Robert De Niro
many times. Describe what it is like to work with such a great actor?

JD: Working with Bob really is a pleasure. He makes it so easy, and gets you into the scene. I remember when they
hung me off the roof in
Analyze That, before the scene we would push each other around. It was great. He taught me so
much about acting. I hope we work together again one day

RL: When people recognize you on the street, what do they usually say to you?

JD: First they will say a line from one of my movies, and then that they like my work. It makes me feel good.
